Straighten a crooked scan or photo of a page
A page scanned or photographed at a slant is turned back level, by the angle PDF Stitch finds from its lines and edges, or by a slider against a grid. Only what is on the page turns: the page keeps its size, and words stay words.
Straighten PDF is part of Pro, from €7.90 a month or €49 a year. The everyday tools stay free forever. Pricing
How to do it
- Open your PDF and double-click the crooked page to open it large.
- Press Straighten, beside Crop, then Find the angle, or move the slider until the lines sit on the grid.
- Press Straighten, then Download.
You do not have to take our word for it
-
Watch the network
The "Nothing is uploaded" button in the app opens a list of every other site the page has contacted since you opened it, and how often, taken from the browser's own record. Your browser's developer tools show every request, this site's own included.
-
Pull the plug
Once the app has loaded, turn off your network and keep working. Text recognition, the document converter and the handwriting fonts work offline too after their first use.
-
Redaction that removes
A page with something blacked out is saved as a picture of itself, so the text under the box is gone, and every redacted page is checked before the file is saved.
Questions
- Does it make the page blurry?
- No. Nothing is redrawn: the page's own content is turned, so text stays sharp and searchable.
- Can I straighten several pages at once?
- Yes. Select them, open their menu and choose Straighten…: the same turn is applied to each.
- What happens to the corners?
- What turns past the edge of the page is cut off there, and the corners it leaves are white. Crop the page afterwards to trim them.
