Turn a PDF into PowerPoint slides

Each page becomes a slide: its text in boxes where it stood, to edit, over a picture of the page drawn without its text, so its shapes, shading, charts and pictures look as they did. Save it as a PowerPoint presentation, or an OpenDocument presentation for LibreOffice Impress.

Saving as PowerPoint or OpenDocument is free for PDFs of up to 5 pages. Longer PDFs are part of Pro. Pricing

How to do it

  1. Open your PDF.
  2. Open More ways to export (the arrow next to Download) and choose Convert to Word, text and more.
  3. Pick PowerPoint presentation, or OpenDocument presentation for LibreOffice Impress.
  4. Choose whether each slide's background keeps a copy of the page's pictures. PDF Stitch explains the difference first.

You do not have to take our word for it

Questions

Can I edit the text?
Yes. Each page's text is in text boxes where it stood, so you can change, move or delete it. The picture behind it is one piece, so its shapes and charts cannot be edited on their own.
Why is there a picture behind each slide?
It keeps the page's look: its shapes, shading, charts and pictures are drawn as they were, and its text is left out of the picture, so it is not shown twice. The page's pictures are also on the slide as pictures of their own, to move or resize. You choose whether the background keeps a copy of them.
What about a scanned PDF?
A scanned page is a picture, so its slide shows the scan as it is. After Recognise text in scans, the slide also holds the recognised text, invisible over the scan's own letters, so the slides can be searched and their text copied.
Which apps open the result?
The PowerPoint file opens in PowerPoint, Keynote and Google Slides, the OpenDocument one in LibreOffice Impress.
