Split a PDF into several files
Split a PDF every so many pages, at pages you pick, where one original file ends and the next begins, or at each top-level bookmark. Download the parts as a zip of PDFs, or open each one as a stitch of its own.
Every way of splitting is free except at bookmarks, which is part of Pro. Pricing
How to do it
- Open your PDF.
- Open More ways to export (the arrow next to Download) and choose Split into parts.
- Choose where each part starts, then Download as a zip or Open as stitches.
You do not have to take our word for it
-
Watch the network
The "Nothing is uploaded" button in the app opens a list of every other site the page has contacted since you opened it, and how often, taken from the browser's own record. Your browser's developer tools show every request, this site's own included.
-
Pull the plug
Once the app has loaded, turn off your network and keep working. Text recognition, the document converter and the handwriting fonts work offline too after their first use.
-
Redaction that removes
A page with something blacked out is saved as a picture of itself, so the text under the box is gone, and every redacted page is checked before the file is saved.

- What ways are there to split?
- Every so many pages, where the pages change from one original file to the next, at the pages you select, at every page, or at each top-level bookmark when the file has bookmarks.

- No. The parts are made from it and it stays as it is. They are named after it, with a number, and with the bookmark title when you split at bookmarks.
- Is it free?
