Sign a PDF

Draw a signature with a mouse, pen or finger, type it in one of four handwriting styles, or take it from a photo with the paper removed. Place it, resize it, and add today's date beside it. This puts a picture of your signature on the page. For a digital signature made with your certificate, which others can check, PDF Stitch has that too, with Pro.

Questions

Is this a legally binding electronic signature?
It is a simple electronic signature: a picture of your signature on the page, like a signed printout that was scanned. That is enough for many everyday agreements, but not where the law asks for written form, such as giving notice on an employment contract in Germany: that needs a signature in ink or a qualified electronic signature. Download signed with a certificate, with Pro, adds a digital signature with your own certificate, which lets others check who signed and that nothing changed since. Depending on the certificate it can be an advanced electronic signature, but it is never a qualified one.
Is my signature kept?
The last few signatures you made are remembered until you close the tab, or kept in this browser if you turn on Keep my files in this browser. They are never uploaded.
Can I add the date?
Yes. The Date tool writes today's date where you click.
Is it free?
Yes. Sign PDF is one of the everyday tools, free forever, with no account and no watermark.
